Youcanevent has been selected for the acceleration program Cohort#9, organized by Blue Startups (www.bluestartups.com) – One of the 20 best accelerators in US (by TechCrunch).
Among a total of 1000 submissions worldwide, only 10 have a place in one of the most prestigious startup accelerators program in US. The name of the Portuguese startup was in the top 10. The program will take place between San Francisco and Honolulu (Hawaii).

According to Chenoa Farnsworth (Director of Blue Startups), one of the reasons for selecting Youcanevent was that “we understand the issue that Youcanevent proposes to solve and we want to solidify that in San Francisco and Honolulu and from there scale to the rest of the world.” Chenoa Farnsworth adds that they have a strong portfolio of clients, “Brands like Mary Kay, Primark, TEDx, Vancouver Economic Commission AND Microsoft have worked with Youcanevent and hearing such positive feedback is just more confirmation of the quality and capability of those behind this project.”
The program starts with an opening ceremony in Hawaii on April 17th, finishing on July 21st in San Francisco, Silicon Valley and Palo Alto.
António Trincão, co-founder & CEO says “This is an extremely important step for the startup. The 100,000$ investment that the startup receives will allow them to increase clients, resources and networking and therefore expand Youcanevent within the largest markets of the events and entertainment industry.” The goal, after the program ends, is to obtain another round of funding so Youcanevent can open headquarters in Los Angeles, New York or San Francisco (largest cities with highest volume of events worldwide).
The CEO goes on to say that this opportunity will allow them to have more tools to consolidate the European market, maintaining their target of 450,000€ in revenue for 2017.
Our offices in Lisbon incubated on Startup Lisboa (www.startuplisboa.com), will continue open with a sales team managed by the Co-founder & COO João Raminhos”.
The team now faces an expansion period distributed between Portuguese and American soil, expecting a growth of at least 250% by the end of 2017.
The founders of the event planning platform want to thank all those who helped make this dream come true, especially their family, friends and Azeituna – Tuna of Science from the University of Minho (www.azeituna.pt - university cultural group where the founders met and worked together before creating the startup).
